Signe Sylvester is a curator and business advisor who is passionate about creating sustainable and meaningful working lives for artists and creators

Too many artist struggle with the fine act of balancing their work, money and energy. I have met and worked with artists who have all together given up on their art because they don’t feel seen, acknowledged or valued. We, as society, should never let that happen. Art, and therefore the artist, is too important. Without it, without you, society miss out on innovations, empathy is weakened and shared history is lost. I see you, and I want to support you in the complex world of art and business.

Education

Every year I work with a small group of artists as a career mentor and business advisor. I support the artists in business decisions, goal setting and industry knowhow through one-on-one conversations, coaching and advisory.

As a curator I focus on art projects in public and commercial spaces such as offices, institutions and businesses. I only engage in exhibitions and art projects where all involved artists receive proper compensation for their services and art.

I care a lot about the well being of artists, and believe that business skills and industry knowhow is crucial in order to create a meaningful and sustainable career within the arts. This is also the main subjects in my talks and debates.
